Pricing
|
|
Tuxedo suits, which will include the jacket and
trousers, will range in price from $650 to $2,000.
The higher prices reflect both higher quality fabrics,
selection, and construction. The other components
of a complete formal outfit, which includes a formal
shirt, tie or bowtie, vest or cummerbund, and jewelry,
will add an additional $250 - $350 to the cost of your
outfit. The only other component you may need are
shoes, but since many gentlemen already have a pair of
nice dress shoes, it is often not necessary to purchase
a pair strictly for your formal outfit. If you do
need a pair of formal shoes, you should plan on spending
about $300 to $350 for a nice pair of shoes from our
Allen Edmonds line.

Buy
or Rent? |
|
The choice to buy a
tuxedo or rent one for occasional use will depend
largely on the frequency with which you'll wear your
formal outfit. If you rent a tuxedo from our
top-of-the-line package, you'll spend $135 (which does
not include shoes.) The purchase of a tuxedo will
cost between $900 to $2,400.
If you find
yourself renting tuxedos at least twice a year, then an
investment of $1,000 in your own tuxedo will be re-couped
in a bit over 3.5 years. That time is shortened if
you find yourself renting even more frequently than
twice a year. Since a well-crafted tuxedo can last
for 10 years or more, it is an investment that could
reap handsome returns over its lifetime. |

The Process
|
|
If you desire to
purchase a
tuxedo, it is best to contact one of the wardrobe
consultants at J.Kleinbauer's well in advance of needing
the outfit.
We prefer to have several weeks of advance notice, but
we can also arrange for purchases with only a few days
notice. (Advanced notice helps ensure the greatest
selection and availability.) We carry some
coat/trouser combinations in our store, but we can offer
greater selection and price-variety by ordering a suit
from one of our designers.
At the same time we
select your basic coat/trouser combination, we'll need
to make the other selections that complete your outfit:
shirt, tie, bowtie, cummerbund or vest, and jewelry.
Again, we keep a selection of all of these accessories
in our store, or can arrange to order from a wider
selection through our partner-designers. |
